Photos of Opiliones

These familiar harmless arachnids are often characterized by their exceptionally long walking legs (most species). And, compared to spiders (with which they are sometimes confused) the two main body sections (the prosoma and opisthosoma) are so broadly joined that superficially they appear to be one structure. Harvestmen move about deliberately unless alarmed. Many species are omnivorous.
