2020 AAS Virtual Summer Symposium

AAS 2020 Virtual Forum Discussing Impacts of Racism on Arachnology

Friday, June 26, 12-2 pm PT / 3-5 pm ET

Many of us spent last Wednesday's  #ShutDownStem thinking, learning and discussing the inherent social structures that limit opportunities available for Black people and persons of color (PoC) in academia in general and arachnology in particular. The goals of the forum are to:

To help us progress this discussion we plan the following:

We will summarize the products of this discussion, share them with the membership, and include emergent insights as guiding principles for action items for the society.

Much thanks to Nadia Ayoub, Karen Cangialosi and Paula Cushing for coordinating this event.
